There is a serious flaw in being copywriter around here. I hear about and work with awesome books long before they’re published . . . and then by the time they actually hit shelves in lovely book form I forget to follow up and grab a copy. (Shame!) Time to take a moment, look back over the last few catalogs, and make up my literary Christmas list:

For my sister:

My younger sister, brave and virtuous woman that she is, teaches science to eighth-graders. She’s only in her first year, so I don’t know how many creative excuses she’s yet received for missing homework. I imagine they will pile up as she continues to teach.

None of them, obviously, will be as good as “the bear ate my library book!” — though one…
