Ridley Haim Herschell was founder of the British Society for Propagating the Gospel Among the Jews (now CWI) and the Evangelical Alliance . Herschell was also one of the founders of the Hebrew Christian Alliance of Great Britain (now BMJA) – come and celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Letter of Invitation to found the Alliance on 25th April 2016 at the church he founded in Central London – for details and tickets see here.
Ridley Herschell and his family were distinguished Hebrew Christians of the 19th century. His son, Farrer Herschell, 1st Baron Herschell, became Lord Chancellor of Great Britain in 1886, and again from 1892 to 1895.
