Some may read my posts about evangelicals preaching the genuine Gospel of salvation by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone versus Catholicism’s false gospel of sacramental grace and merit and get the wrong idea. Sometimes I generalize to keep my messages simple but misunderstanding may result.
I’d like to take this opportunity to clarify my position a little bit.
Not everyone who sits in an evangelical church on a Sunday morning is a born-again Christian. Each person must accept Jesus Christ as Savior personally. Attending church never made anyone a Christian. In addition, some churches that label themselves as “evangelical” don’t do a very good job of preaching the Gospel.
