A Necessary Pain

“Now my soul is deeply troubled. Should I pray, ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But this is the very reason I came! Father, bring glory to your name. Then a voice spoke from heaven, saying, “I have already brought glory to my name, and I will do so again.” When the crowd heard the voice, some thought it was thunder, while others declared an angel had spoken to him.” John 12:27-29


Are we willing to sacrifice for Kingdom work, pass up feel-good opportunities to serve God’s people, and suffer for righteousness sake? For some, the answer would be a quick “Yes!”, or a hesitant “NO!”. Either stance requires much consideration. For the person that accepts their lot, praying “thy will be done” must prepare themselves to journey with the Lord. The “thy will be done” believer has child-like faith, open ears, and a willingness to submit to God’s will and ways…
