After this overview of the Biblical data about the Kingdom of God in the Old Testament, we will turn our attentions to the covenants. We will narrow our attention to the covenants which form the basis for the relationship that God has with his people. There are three major covenants that we will look at: the Abrahamic, Mosaic, and New Covenants. The covenants are critical to understand because they are the foundation of the kingdom. In the Abrahamic Covenant, God unconditionally obligates himself to three promises: to make Abraham the father of many nations, to give him and his children the land of Canaan, and to be their personal God. And Abraham received the covenant as a gift, or in theological terms he received it by grace. The next major covenant is the Mosaic Covenant.
