As I pondered Easter Sunday, the Spirit of God led me to thinking about what was happening in Jerusalem the day the tomb was found empty.
Now, we know the religious leaders were plotting. Matthew 28:11-13 tells us that the guards told the chief priests everything that had happened. They in turn met with the elders and devised a plan. The guards were paid off and told what to say, “Jesus’ disciples came during the night while we were sleeping, and they stole his body.”
We know the disciples were scared and hiding. John 20:19 tells us that when Jesus appeared to the disciples, they were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews.
So, okay. We know about those two people groups. But what about all of those who were not so close to the circumstances surrounding Jesus death and resurrection? Surely, they experienced it but really…
