Why do We Serve Christ?

IMG_0928Hello everyone! I thought the most fitting way to start my blog was by sharing the most important part: Knowing God.

In American churches today, a huge focus is on serving Christ. We do it through sermons, small groups, evangelizing, fighting against things like abortion, helping others in the church, and the list goes on. It’s great!

Or is it?

What is the drive behind why we do what we do, the root of our fruit? Why are we doing all these things? To reach the lost? To encourage other believers? Probably. But I don’t think it stops there.

Sadly, for a lot of Christians, it is because they think that if they don’t serve Him enough, they won’t get to heaven, or God won’t love them as much.

I used to think that. Not consciously, and I wouldn’t say that’s what I thought. I knew that God loved everyone…
