Our Nature Made Simple
Why is the human race such a mess? The answer is simple, at least on the surface, and can be explained, at least on the surface, in three verses.
These three verses are Genesis 5:1-3. Let’s go verse by verse.
Verse 1
“This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day when God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.”
The key phrase here is “He [God] made him in the likeness of God.” What does it mean to be made in God’s likeness? One thing it does not mean is that we look like God. John 4:24 tells us that God is “spirit”; He does not possess a physical form. God can manifest one if He chooses, but innately, God is spirit and has no physical form.
