Luke 9:23 ESV
“And he said to all, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.’”
What does it take for us to deny ourselves? It means we say, “No!” to ungodliness and fleshly lusts. It means we say “No!” to what we want if God wants something different for us. And it means we get up out of bed every day and we go to work whether we feel like it or not, and the like.
It means we humble ourselves before God, we turn away from our sinful lifestyles, and we choose to walk in obedience to him and to his commands (New Covenant). We choose what God wants over what our flesh wants. And we choose to walk by faith and not by our feelings.
