My favorite verses for today came from:
- Deuteronomy 8:5
- “Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you.”
- So often we are afraid of discipline and definitely do not find it enjoyable. None of us want to receive discipline – yet we all need it so desperately. As a parent – when I discipline my children it’s because they do something wrong that they know they should not have done. We do not discipline when they do something wrong without knowing it was wrong – those are times for teaching why something is wrong. Disciplining does not come from a place of anger or desire to discipline – it actually quite sucks sometimes. I would much rather my kids learn right from wrong and then always choose right – don’t we all wish that for our kids as well…
