They grow up fast, don’t they? All parents think it and say it. And we don’t just say it in their teen years. I remember saying it when each of our boys were toddlers – “Man, I can’t believe he is waling now! Where has the time gone.”
Parenting is not a dash; it’s a marathon. When they are little, you start with “no’s” and eventually graduate to explanations of why some behaviors are acceptable and others are not. You hope they are listening, and you hope when they are alone without formal supervision, they make godly and righteous choices.
