In Hebrews 12:15-16 the author calls out a couple areas where we struggle as humans in lining up with God’s plan. The first is around bitterness, and the second around sexual immorality and the third around holiness. “See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled; that no one is sexually immoral or unholy like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal.” Guzik explains “We must get right with God’s grace. So look diligently to keep both yourself and others from a return to legalism in either outward form or inward attitude that falls short of God’s grace.”
