In Hebrews 12:26-29 the writer continues to talk about what lies ahead for us on this earth. God was shaking up the leaders of that day and it should be a message to us as well. These beaten down and overwhelmed Jewish Christians felt it. But the things of God and the people of God will remain. “At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” God’s not going anywhere. He sits on heaven’s throne and remains there to this day and for all eternity. There are few things we can truly trust to be there forever – but this is definitely one of them.

While God will remove certain things in this world, His kingdom itself will never be shaken. So we must seize God’s unmerited approval in Jesus…
