“Pray
That we may be rescued
From wicked
And evil people.
Not all have faith.”
καὶ ἵνα ῥυσθῶμεν ἀπὸ τῶν ἀτόπωνκαὶ πονηρῶν ἀνθρώπων· οὐ γὰρ πάντων ἡ πίστις.
Paul said, “Pray that we may be rescued (καὶ ἵνα ῥυσθῶμεν) from wicked (ἀπὸ τῶν ἀτόπων) and evil people (καὶ πονηρῶν ἀνθρώπων). Not all have faith (οὐ γὰρ πάντων ἡ πίστις).” Paul then asked the Thessalonians to pray that he might be rescued or saved from those wicked and evil people out there. Paul reminded the followers of Jesus at Thessalonica that not all people have faith in God and the Lord Jesus Christ, like them. Paul was not naïve. He was keenly and fully aware of the hostile world around him. Not everyone believed in Jesus Christ like he did. Are you aware of wicked and evil people around you?
