See the source imageJesus learned obedience “from what He suffered.” As the divine Son of God, Jesus did not have to suffer, but as the Son of Man, suffering was required to learn obedience.

God’s goal for us is one of obedience to what God wants us to do (aka God’s will). What does God want us to do today? Love Him and love our neighbor like we love ourselves.

Hebrews 5:8–10 says,

Son though he was, [Jesus] learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.
