Psalms 140

Bible Observations

This is a Psalm of David. This is the first Psalm I have seen in a while (if not ever) where the title of the Psalm is the first thing that the Psalm says. The terms that I noticed in this Psalm were:

  1. Deliver me
  2. Guard me
  3. Give ear to the voice of my pleas for mercy

It is interesting to see how the evolution of David’s prayer for deliverance and protection from his enemies who are wicked unfolded. It is interesting how even though David knew he was persecuted by evil people he still asked God for mercy. I guess that David knew that God could have chosen to not help him.
