2 Peter 1:1-2 ESV
“Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
“To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
“May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.”
So, this was written to those who had obtained a faith of equal standing with that of the apostles by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ. So, what is this faith which is obtained by the righteousness of God and is of equal standing with the faith of the apostles? First of all, please note that it says here that the faith is “obtained by the righteousness of God.”
