  1. Vincent:

Thank you for reading my articles on DefCon. I wanted to let you know that my short story, The Visitor, is available for free download for a few more hours today (Saturday).

    Here’s what others are saying:
    – “If the Twilight Zone still existed, this short story would be an episode, it is that good.” PapaPhilly (5 Stars)
    – “I guarantee you will be old before you forget this book.” Mark Escalera (5 Stars)
    – “Very well written in a manner that kept me riveted to the end.” Paul Bayne (5 Stars)
    – “I love that it moved quickly and touched on so many interesting points and . . . had such an unpredictable ending.” Bernard Ruiz (5 Stars)
    – “It was amazing and scary at the same time. The Vistor left me breathless.” Michelle Bledsoe (5 Stars)
    – “Very thought provoking.” Laura McGowen (4 Stars)
    – “The Visitor . . . [is] . . . a truism that big things come in small packages.” Chad (5 Stars)

I’d love to know what you think about it.

    Sincerely,
    J.L. Pattison

  4. Fear and ignorance is part of the cause of racism based on stereotypical propaganda to create hatred towards others. When one truly gets to know people better, they are often not what they were supposed to be. “White like me” and “black like me” TV programmes took people out of their comfort zones to live with each other in an experiment. Most found that most people are normal hardworking people often facing challenges like anybody else. This racism menace in society is an unfortunate diversion and excuse used to blame others to sow confusion instead of treating people right. It is everyone’s duty of due diligence to ensure all are treated well by each in a small personal way. Racism is mind control strategy used to influence the public to sear the conscience of institutional racists from fair treatment of all. So each one can show kindness to others by a smile, offering water, food with good attitude or whatever is reasonably safely appropriate. Some people think there must be some major revolution before change comes. However, treating people right daily is a small step in the right direction. Awareness of each others culture and values will go a long way to help counter the negative impact of racism. God can change the stony hearts of mankind to the heart of flesh through Christ Jesus. So any person genuinely seeking to stop racism can as it is a heart condition that can be resolved.

  5. Hello, I admire the way you share and re-blog others’ posts. It gives them exposure and it also allows us readers to find new / old authors. I have found several new authors because of posts you’ve shared. I’d be grateful if you would be willing to share some of my posts ( if you agree with what I write , of course). I’ve written on the names of God, and am in the middle of writing a summary of each chapter of the books of the Bible. Thank you for your efforts.

  6. GW, I’m checking in on you.
I’ve not seen hide nor hair of you in quite some time—but of course, time has not been mine and my life has been crazy.
I just wanted to make certain my glow worm was still glowing…as this sugar cookie is crumbling 😉
