Mariccus of Gaul: Peasant, Rebel, God


In this video, Dr. Michael Bird (@mbird12 on Twitter) tells the story of Marricus of Gaul, a Gallic peasant who, in addition to claiming to be a god, launched a rebellion during the Roman civil war between Otho and Vitellus ca. AD 69.
